Position Description

The Cyber Security Analyst will be responsible for supporting projects focused on homeland security, defense and civil government markets. The successful candidate will assist government clients and contribute in project teams to support cyber security initiatives by applying prevailing cyber security best practices. 

General responsibilities include:

  • Coordinate and execute security activities not limited to but including; developing or reviewing security plans, testing plans, and SA documentation; provide recommendations to the client to support each identified security related activity

  • Ensure systems and applications security documentation are complete and thoroughly documented in accordance with requisite federal requirements

  • Coordinate and interact with the client and other contractor staff with technical understanding of systems and applications

  • Provide quality assurance to ensure the quality of each security artifact and related actions

  • Identify solutions to meet the user’s needs, conduct trade studies around various technologies and implementations, and integrate these technologies to provide a complete security solution that meets a given set of security requirements

Required Skills

  • Familiarity with FIPS 199, NIST SP 800-37 Rev1, NIST SP 800-137, NIST SP 800-26, NIST SP 800-53 A, NIST SP 800-18, OMB Circular A-130

  •  Familiarity with TAF, C-SAM, or RMS tools

  • Demonstrate familiarity with vulnerability management (POA&M) from creation to closure

  • Consulting presence, with excellent presentation skills

  • Ability to communicate well both orally and verbally

  • Ability to translate between technical and business/mission topics ·         Ability to work in highly collaborative, team environments under aggressive timelines

  • Bachelor's Degree in Engineering, Computer Science, or equivalent

  • Preferred: Security +, CAP, CISA, CISSP, PMP

  • Top Secret or Secret or ability to obtain one

Required Experience

  • Minimum two (2)  years experience demonstrating the ability to supporting cyber security projects

  • Experience working in a government environment supporting IT operations and projects.

  • Prior DHS or DoD experience

  • Preferred: Experience with vulnerability scanning tools such as Nessus or App Detective
