Design and Engineering Support Program II ( DESP II)
DESP II is a five-year, multiple-award, Indefinite
Delivery/Indefinite Quantity (ID/IQ) contract vehicle available for use
within the Air Force Materiel Command (AFMC), the Air Force, DoD, and
other government agencies. DESP II is a task ordering contract that was
created to provide engineering and high-level technical services in
support of all Air Force weapon systems, components, and support
equipment. The scope of contract covers technology insertion,
reliability and maintainability, deployability improvements,
environmental and safety compliance, improvement of depot manufacturing
and/or repair processes, and development of information management
systems and process models. The contract ceiling is set at $1.9 billion. Task
orders may encompass a broad range of engineering-related tasks, such as
concept exploration, tradeoff studies, systems analysis and
specification development, systems design, prototype manufacturing,
system integration, testing, modeling, and simulation, and engineering
and technical documentation. Although the DESP II contract has been
specifically established for use within AFMC, this dynamic contract
vehicle may be used by all other Air Force commands, DoD agencies (e.g.,
Army, Navy, Marines), and other government entities (e.g., NASA, DOE,
DOT, DOS, EPA, OSHA) having similar systems and/or needs, if sponsored
by an ALC.
With DRC as the Prime Contractor, the DRC DESP II Team is a
multi-faceted group of large and small businesses (76 team members)
strategically formed to meet the diverse work identified on the DESP II
contract. Details of the DRC DESP II program and team members can be seen at
