Air Force Reconnaissance Systems Program Office
Challenge
The Reconnaissance Systems Program
Office's objectives include:
-
Develop, acquire, sustain and
improve highly classified IMINT and SIGINT
reconnaissance payloads, and platforms.
-
Transform the organization to one
based on architectural capabilities.
-
Ensure effective use of SPO
workforce.
Solution
DRC acquisition professionals created
spiral development plans to quickly deliver initial
capability to war fighters and then add capability
increments in future spirals. Among our many successful
activities, we:
-
Used the Air Force Cryptologic
Architecture for planning and decision-making.
-
Produced an architecture-based,
capability-focused, SIGINT investment strategy for the
USAF.
-
Built a SIGINT investment plan.
-
Recommended implementation of
automated support equipment programs.
-
Established the priorities of all
airborne SIGINT development efforts.
-
Supported the budget build with
analysis and recommendations.
Benefits/Achievements
We helped the program seamlessly
transition to a new architecturally focused organization
that achieved optimal manpower effectiveness and provided
capabilities to quickly get products to the war fighter.
