Global Command and Control System-AF (GCCS-AF)
Information Assurance
Challenge
The GCCS-AF Program needed support in several key technical
areas.
Solutions
As part of our technical support, DRC
conducted infrastructure and architecture analysis and
supported security accreditation compliance. We conducted
Network Risk Assessments and developed system security
documentation.
DRC worked with GCCS-AF security
officers and Air Force testers and certifiers to certify and
accredit GCCS-AF as a system of Joint and AF-unique
components. The team works with Systems Engineering, Asset
Management/Acquisition Support, and the user representatives
to identify and implement software and hardware requirements
while maintaining the overall GCCS-AF security
configuration. The team advises the government security
representative on Configuration Management Board decisions.
We assist in implementing the Certification & Accreditation
Management Structure Development Team. We track/monitor
status of Certificates to Operate at MAJCOMS. We support
Network Risk Assessments and develop system security
documentation such as the System Security Authorization
Agreements (SSAA). DRC documents and evaluates Joint and
AF-specific security issues, e.g., selection and fielding of
an Intrusion Detection System; and assists in selecting
security architectures/solutions.
Benefits/Achievements
DRC technical support helped the program
office in its mission to deploy this vital DoD system to AF
units and designated Combatant Commanders worldwide.
