Information Technology
DRC provides processes and tools to
develop, manage, and govern complex information systems.
DRC develops software for complex
systems using Capability Maturity Model Integration for
Development (CMMI-DEV) Maturity Level 3 processes. We have
successfully used these processes to develop a number of
large complex
Business Intelligence and
Automated Case
Management systems for a wide range of customers. DRC
also provides a variety of services to support the ongoing
development and subsequent maintenance of an organization's
Enterprise Architecture (EA). We research, document and
facilitate integration between technology planning and the
enterprise business process development. We generate and
maintain the Business Architecture and EA artifacts required
to assure compliance with the Federal and Agency EA
requirements. We work with operational areas to assure
compliance with the Business Architecture level requirements
of the Capital Planning and Investment Control (CPIC)
process, and the Agency System Lifecycle Management (SLM)
frameworks. Using a variety of tools, we provide the support
necessary to develop and maintain the interoperability
solutions, maintain the Enterprise data model, specify
appropriate application logical data models of the
enterprise systems, and guide the transformation of those
models into the application physical data models.
DRC provides a comprehensive set of
services for
managing and implementing IT infrastructures for Government
organizations that is based on the International
Organization for Standardization (ISO) 20000-1:2005 for IT
Service Management (ITSM). Finally, DRC
provides integrated processes and services to help
Government agencies govern their IT systems. These services
include:
-
Capital Planning and Investment
Control (CPIC). DRC assists customers in
implementing a structured, integrated approach to
managing IT investments. Our
goal is to ensure that all IT investments align with
organization’s mission and support business needs while
minimizing risks and maximizing returns throughout the
investment's lifecycle. Our processes employ a
systematic approach to IT investment management that are
fully congruent with OMB Circular A-11 and OMB Exhibit
300 requirements.
-
Process and Product Quality
Assurance (PPQA). DRC assists organizations in
objectively evaluating processes, work products, and
services against applicable process descriptions,
standards, and procedures; identifying and documenting
noncompliance issues; and providing feedback to project
staff and managers on the results of quality
assurance (QA) activities. DRC PPQA support is often
integrated with an organization’s Capability Maturity
Model®
Integration (CMMI®) activities.
-
Federal Information Security
Management Act (FISMA) imposes a mandatory set of
processes that must be followed for all Federal
information systems. These processes must follow a
combination of Federal Information Processing Standards
(FIPS) documents, the Special Publications SP-800-series
issued by National Institute of Standards and Technology
(NIST) and other legislation pertinent to
federal information systems, such as the Privacy Act of
1974 and the Health Insurance Portability and
Accountability Act. DRC IT staff provides a
comprehensive set of processes and tools to assist
organization in implementing FISMA including:
Certification and Accreditation (C&A) reviews, technical
compliance reviews, remediation support, support for IT
audits, root cause analysis, and development and
maintenance of Plan of Action and Milestones (POA&Ms).
Several case studies demonstrating our
capabilities in IT Governance are provided the box at the
