Priority Defense Programs
DRC plays a vital role in supporting our
country’s priority Defense programs in the areas such as
logistics and readiness, C4ISR, and Netcentric IT.
Logistics and Readiness. For more than
30 years, DRC's logistics support solutions have enabled the
armed services to improve spares planning, repair pipeline
throughput, and increase overall logistics efficiency. Our
integrated logistics support services include:
-
Performance-based logistics
-
Logistics planning
-
Acquisition logistics
-
Production
-
Sustainment and depot support
-
Configuration management
-
Modeling and simulation
-
Logistics information systems
-
Asset management
-
Total cost of ownership
For example, DRC was the principal
architect of Headquarters Air Force Materiel Command (AFMC)
Weapon System Management Information System (WSMIS). WSMIS
is the Materiel Support Group's key decision support tool
for assessing the impacts of maintenance, parts, and repair
status on weapons systems availability.
DRC provides engineering support to the
Air Force Item Unique Identification (IUID) program. IUID is
an asset identification system instituted by the DOD to
uniquely identify items with the ultimate goal of providing
better asset accountability, valuation, and life cycle
management. DRC is currently a member of the development
team for the Air Force Expeditionary Combat Support System (ECSS)
which represents the single largest change in the history of
Air Force Logistics. ECSS is an Air Force Logistics
transformation which will provide integrated software,
standardized business processes, and transformed personnel
roles.
In addition to logistics information
systems, DRC provides a variety of other services to the
logistics community such as:
-
DRC provides acquisition
management, systems engineering, logistics and/or
sustainment support to a number of Air Force programs
such as the F-22, C-17, B-2, F-16, B-52, and B-1.
-
DRC has
supported the Joint Strike Fighter Program Office (JSFPO)
by providing independent assessments of the JSF
logistics requirements using the Logistics Composite
Model (LCOM) to ensure accurate and essential
information was available to support selection
decisions.
C4ISR. DRC assists defense organizations
in procuring and fielding the C4ISR systems that provide
vital situational information to the commander and soldier
on the ground. DRC has been supporting C4ISR systems for
more than 20 years, providing a full spectrum of engineering
and management services. Examples of our past performance
include:
-
Predator/Reaper Program Management
Support. DRC provides integrated support services in
the following functional areas: program management,
systems integration and planning, acquisition
management, financial management, contract management
and program reporting, protocol and team integration,
engineering, logistics, communications field support,
weapons product / quality assurance, communications
engineering, flight operations, flight manuals,
mechanical engineering, foreign military sales, ground
control station production support, contractor logistics
support (CLS), business case analysis (BCA), depot
activation, operations test & flight test support, test
engineering, administrative management, program
operations, and customer service support.
-
Network
Centric Operations. DRC coordinates and manages
tactical data link (TDL) networks, training, software,
and hardware requirements, and provides data link
logistics, training, and network planning. Our support
covers data link issues for all mission areas in
coordination with the Air Force Network Design Facility,
Joint Network Design Library, other services, and MAJCOM
training and operations offices. DRC is the Air Force
Command and Control, Intelligence, Surveillance, and
Reconnaissance Center (AFC2ISRC) subject matter expert
on Situational Awareness Data Link (SADL) and has been a
major contributor to program accomplishment leading to
continuation of the A/OA-10 Precision Engagement program
and upgrading of communication capabilities to Joint
Tactical Radio System (JTRS) and
the platform.
NETCENTRIC IT. DRC provides technical
support for the development and sustainment of Netcentric IT
systems using advanced technical concepts such as SOA. For example, DRC helped
the Joint Forces Command develop the Global Force Management
Toolset (GFMTS) using web services, DRC was recently awarded
the NETCENTS-2 Enterprise Integration and Service Management
(EISM) contract. Under this contract, DRC will provide IT
portfolio management analyses, enterprise-wide and
cross-domain engineering and architectural analyses,
enterprise business process reengineering solutions, the
development of enterprise service standards and processes,
service performance assessments and scalability planning,
and services to develop plans and strategies to implement
new SOA.
