F-16 Systems Program Office (SPO) Support

Challenge

The F-16 SPO faces significant challenges in sustaining the F-16. In production for 25 years, more than 4,000 F-16s have been produced. The F-16 is supported in 20 foreign countries, 36 Air National Guard and Air Force Reserve stateside bases, ten USAF bases (five stateside and five overseas). Numerous foreign military sales and aircraft configuration issues must be continuously addressed to successfully support the program.

Solutions

DRC has provided acquisition logistics support to the F-16 SPO since 1997. Our work ensures needed support to the F-16 war fighter through timely acquisition of technical data, support equipment, and training. The DRC Team assesses the adequacy of ECPs, logistics plans, and other documents, and recommends improvements. We have processed more than 40,000 TO changes; and successfully transformed the TO library into the Joint Computer Aided Logistics Support (JCALS) program.

Our team has played a key role in integrating and supporting new F-16 aircraft operational capabilities across the globe. Team support begins with development of kit installation planning and follows through to the post-installation logistics support requirements. DRC integration projects range in complexity from an entire new engine upgrade to new advanced avionics capabilities. The team has also successfully supported integration of numerous new capabilities for foreign military sales.

Benefits/Achievements

Our Reduction of Total Ownership Cost (RTOC) analysis has played a vital role in reducing F-16 operating and support costs.

  • In transitioning to JCALS, DRC successfully processed 40,000 Technical Order changes.
  • DRC's RTOC analysis resulted in $50 million in savings.
  • Consistently OUTSTANDING performance ratings from our F-16 customer throughout our decade of service.
