Skill Kitting Inventory Tracking and Technology (SKITT)
Challenge
The Air Force needed DoD-compliant
machine-readable two-dimensional markings on assets so that
each asset could be uniquely separated from all other assets
in the inventory throughout its life cycle.
Solution
DRC assembled a team of world-renowned
metallurgical scientists to solve the challenge of applying
UID markings to legacy parts destined for depot maintenance,
repair, and overhaul (MRO).
Benefits/Achievements
Each asset can be uniquely separated
from all other assets in the inventory throughout its life
cycle. Our technical approach successfully addresses IUID
registration issues and prepares the customer organization
for a fully integrated legacy parts IUID system. Our process
is expected to provide significant cost avoidance.
