F-16 Program Office Reorganization
Challenge
The F-16 Program Office was asked to
reduce their staff by nearly 50% while maintaining the same
level of mission readiness.
Solutions
DRC provided services for collaborative
decision making, organizational change, and implementation
planning. We established the guidelines and implementation
plan for implementing a 50% reduction in on-board strength
and instituting the necessary organizational changes. We
developed a Reorganization Implementation Plan that detailed
a schedule of actions that were linked to
personnel/resources, processes, documentation, communication
plan, and implementation tracking.
Benefits/Achievements
- We created a comprehensive
reorganization plan for this large program office in
only 3 months.
- We designed a generic approach to
downsizing that is now followed by other DoD
organizations.
- Most importantly, our customer was
able to successfully implement the plan for downsizing
from 942 to 500 people by the deadline while meeting all
mission objectives.
