TRANSCOM Distribution Process Owner (DPO)

Challenge

TRANSCOM DPO needed to improve processes to support DoD's supply chain.

Solution

DRC provided logistics and functional analysis, process improvement expertise, and support to the DPO integration efforts. We conducted liaison and coordination between USTRANSCOM and its components, the combatant commands, other government agencies, and support contractors. We assisted in the development of recommended improvements to DoD distribution at the strategic, operational/force, and tactical levels. DRC provided Joint Capability Integration and Development System (JCIDS) support of ongoing and future deployment and distribution efforts, including strategic recommendations to re-engineer DoD distribution processes, information systems, and resources as well as changes to regulatory guidance.

Benefits/Achievements

DRC efforts have assisted DPO in developing a synchronized distribution chain that gained visibility and accountability at all levels and has vastly improved support for EUCOM. Through persistent analysis and management of the distribution pipeline, war fighting units in Europe are now realizing a consistent three-day reduction in CWT, and satisfaction of established TDD standards, often more than 75% of the time.
