Radio Frequency and Wireless Engineering
DRC provides advanced engineering
support in radio frequency (RF) and mixed signal modeling,
simulation, circuit design, integrated circuit fabrication,
and testing. For example, DRC provided support in all these
areas to a Navy Integrated Circuit Fabrication Facility (ICFF).
DRC designed and developed models and processes for RF,
analog, mixed signal, and Complementary Metal-Oxide
Semiconductor (CMOS) devices. We developed
mathematical models of RF transmitter sensitivity and power
consumption. We also designed, fabricated,
and tested split-lot experiments observing effects of
variations in a set of controllable parameters on a
performance metric for the technology (such as reliability
and/or radiation hardness). We operated state-of-the-art ICFFs for RF transmitter silicon integrated
circuits manufacture. This included RF Transmitter analysis,
design, fabrication, and testing. We interacted with
fabrication of the processing tool design at the layout and
circuit topology levels. We established a database to
capture, design, fabricate, and test data into an Integrated
Manufacturing Database (IMDB).
