Predator and Reaper Program Management Support

Challenge

The Air Force Predator/Reaper Program office needed program management support to meet the growing demand for Unmanned Aerial Vehicles (UAVs). MQ-1 Predator is a medium-altitude, long-endurance. The Predator drone has become the primary unmanned aerial vehicle used for offensive operations in Afghanistan and the Pakistani tribal areas. The MQ-9, Reaper, is the first hunter-killer UAV designed for long-endurance, high-altitude surveillance.

Solution

DRC's provides integrated support services in the following functional areas: program management, systems integration and planning, acquisition management, financial management, contract management and program reporting, protocol and team integration, engineering, logistics, communications field support, weapons product/quality assurance, communications engineering, flight operations, flight manuals, mechanical engineering, foreign military sales, ground control station production support, contractor logistics support (CLS), business case analysis (BCA), depot activation, operations test & flight test support, test engineering, administrative management, program operations, and customer service support. 

Benefits/Achievements

For over three years, DRC have served the Predator/Reaper program by successfully providing a wide range of program management, engineering, acquisition management, test, and integration expertise. Our presence in the Predator/Reaper program provides exceptional continuity and breadth of knowledge of critical aspects of the MQ-1, MQ-9, and Combat Systems. We have efficiently interacted with Air Force representatives and Prime contractors to help rapidly and accurately address quick-turn taskers faced by this high visibility and critical program. We have played a critical role in program upgrade efforts, and provided the PM with expert senior level acquisition management support, in the midst of continuing program challenges. In recognition of this support, our work scope has been significantly increased.
