DoD Productivity Enhancement, Technology Transfer and
DoD needed state-of-the-art scientific
and technology support in a broad range of domains related
to computational science.
DRC has been working on DoD's User
Productivity Enhancement, Technology Transfer and Training
("PETTT") since 1996, providing advanced solutions such as
high performance computing ("HPC"), computational science,
and development of the next generation of military
technology. DRC provides S&T services in 10 technical areas
under PETTT, including: climate / weather / ocean
modeling and simulation; biology, chemistry, and
materials science; electromagnetic and acoustics; electronics, networking, and systems / C4I; fluid
dynamics; structural mechanics; environmental
quality modeling and simulation; forces modeling and
simulation; integrated modeling and test environments;
and signal / image processing.
DRC provides a key link between academia
and the military to prioritize the most pressing needs of
the warfighter and work with research labs to find solutions
through transforming theoretical research and models into
actionable military-ready technology. DRC's highly qualified
staff optimizes and engineers scientific code and develops
software to maximize the use of today's high performance,
multi-processor computing architectures. As a result, DRC
enables researchers to understand complex phenomena and
enhance their scientific productivity.
