Battle Command Knowledge System (BCKS)
Challenge
BCKS is the Army's knowledge management
system. BCKS supports the Army by providing a repository for
knowledge documents and professional discussions. It
connects soldiers across the boundaries of time and distance
through collaboration, information exchange and sharing of
best practices. Members contribute to the generation of new
ideas and make valuable contacts.
Solution
DRC's team of dedicated Knowledge
Management professionals, facilitators and trainers provide
innovative network and knowledge management services to the
U.S. Army's BCKS at Fort
Leavenworth, Kansas. As subcontractor to the Computer
Sciences Corporation (CSC), DRC's Knowledge Management
facilitators and professionals support a series of Knowledge
Management networks and forums designed to capture, manage
and share information on a variety of military subjects that
link groups of similar interest virtually 24/7.
DRC provides knowledge management
support and services to the Leadership and Leader
Development Knowledge Network (LLDKN) and Operational Forces
Knowledge Network. DRC also provides BCKS/Knowledge
Management training to customers across the Army. DRC
Knowledge Managers facilitate, coordinate, integrate and
share knowledge among the eight professional forums in the
Leadership and Leader Development and Operating Forces
Knowledge Network. Forum facilitators support online
discussions, connect forum members and subject matter
experts and capture new knowledge for future use.
