Colorado Trails Electronic Performance Support System (EPSS)
Challenge
The state of Colorado developed a new
child welfare and youth corrections case management system,
Colorado Trails. To successfully field Colorado Trails,
caseworkers who would use the system needed to quickly
achieve and maintain a specific standard of competency with
the system.
Solution
DRC developed a robust suite of online
job performance support tools for Colorado Trails that were
integrated in a state-of-the-art EPSS. The EPSS features
multi-level online help, Computer Based Training (CBT), and
web-based policies and procedures. Online help includes
direct links to the CBT and online policies. The CBT
component consists of overviews of key functions,
demonstrations, and realistic hands-on practice lessons. The
CBT is based on a modular task-based design in which lessons
are grouped according to functional job components, allowing
learners to recognize and select training relevant to their
own training needs and pace.
Benefits/Achievements
