Heavy Brigade Combat Tem (HBCT) Tactical Leader Course

Challenges

The Army is transforming to meet the challenges of an asymmetric threat in high intensity and Stability and Reconstruction Operations (S&RO) in both contiguous and noncontiguous battlefields. As the Army transitions the Armor Center from Ft. Knox to the Maneuver Center of Excellence at Fort Benning, training development support will be further directed towards defining required capabilities for Infantry, Armor, and Cavalry to meet the needs of the Future Force; and developing those capabilities and requirements to ensure Soldiers are equipped with the skills, doctrine, and materiel to win on the Joint and Combined Battlefield. HBCT training must reflect these evolving changes.

Solutions

DRC is developing a Tactical Leader Course for all Army HBCTs that addresses the Army’s transformational challenges. Our work involves developing more than 120 hours of General Mission Essential Tasks/Core Critical Mission Essential Tasks curriculum, leader certification, and home station-required training. The courseware is exportable for use by mobile training teams (MTTs) and is tailored to a range of leaders (Lieutenant Colonel through Staff Sergeant).

Using a proven and proactive spiral delivery approach DRC delivers HBCT collective task analysis; lesson plans; and instructional products. Our spiral delivery approach lets clients see products early in the project schedule. Through the Army’s Automated Systems Approach to Training (ASAT) and comprehensive in-process reviews, DRC can “show” the product to its clients in an iterative fashion allowing DRC and the Government to reach earlier consensus on how best to meet the requirements.

In order to effectively analyze and improve upon the current training, DRC brings a team of instructional developers and military Subject Matter Experts (SMEs) with years of experience assessing, analyzing, developing, and evaluating the effectiveness of numerous training programs.
